CZM and Nabil Group Extend Zakat Support for Human Development

Rajshahi Correspondent: With the aim of poverty alleviation and human development, the second phase of zakat fund distribution under the Jibika Unnayan Kendra Paba Project has been carried out. The project is being implemented by the Center for Zakat Management (CZM) with the support of Nabil Group of Industries.
The fund distribution ceremony was held on Saturday (October 4) at 11 a.m. at the mosque of Nabil Group in Verapara, Paba upazila of Rajshahi. A total zakat fund of Tk 46.85 lakh was distributed among 398 mustahik families.
The event was presided over by Jahan Boksh Mondol, Chairman of Nabil Group of Industries. He said, “Our efforts go beyond zakat distribution. We are also supporting mosque imams, madrasa students, healthcare initiatives, marriage arrangements for underprivileged families, and creating employment opportunities to empower women.”
As a special guest, Agriculturist Md. Aminul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of Nabil Group of Industries, expressed his deep satisfaction after listening to the success stories of the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Colonel (Retd.) Zakaria Hossain, Head of Corporate Affairs at CZM, said that since its establishment in 2008, CZM has reached nearly 1.7 million people with various services. Meanwhile, Enamul Haque, Deputy General Manager of CZM’s Livelihood Division, highlighted the overall activities of the project.
At the end of the program, zakat checks were handed over to 14 group leaders representing 14 teams under the project.
