Mohonpur on the Path of Livestock Development through Indigenous Breeds and Modern Technology

Staff Reporter: With the theme “Indigenous breeds, modern technology — advancement in livestock development,” the National Livestock Week 2025 was celebrated in Mohonpur upazila of Rajshahi, in line with the rest of the country. The event featured a livestock exhibition, colorful rally, and discussion meeting.
The discussion was held at 11 a.m. on November 26 (Wednesday), presided over by Dr. Khondkar Sagor Ahmed, Upazila Livestock Officer. Jobaida Sultana, Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), attended the program as the chief guest.
The event was conducted by Syed Ali Reza, Youth Development Officer.
Among others present were Dr. Md. Aktar Hossain, Health and Family Planning Officer; Benzir Ahmed, Senior Fisheries Officer; Kamrul Islam, Agriculture Officer; G.M. Hasanul Islam Faruk, Assistant Engineer, BMDA; Ataur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohonpur Police Station; Tarikul Islam, Project Implementation Officer; Humayun Kabir Sabuj, Livestock Extension Officer; Rabiul Islam, Sub-Assistant Engineer of Public Health; and Haiul Islam, Election Officer.
Later, Dr. Ananda Kumar Adhikari, Director of the Rajshahi Divisional Livestock Department, and Dr. Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Deputy Chief Epidemiologist, visited the exhibition stalls.
A total of 30 stalls participated in the livestock exhibition. Certificates and prizes were awarded to the participants at the end of the event.
