Md Shahin Sagor: In the remote hill district of Khagrachhari—where advanced healthcare services are often out of reach—Dr. Nayan Moy Tripura has emerged as a symbol of trust through his tireless humanitarian service. A pediatric orthopedic and trauma surgeon, he is known not only for his clinical expertise but also for his compassionate care for the underprivileged.
A Complex Surgery, A New Life
Recently, he drew attention after successfully performing surgery on a critically injured patient. The patient had fractures in two places in one leg—the femur (thigh bone) and the tibia-fibula—along with severe bleeding, making the case highly complex and risky. Despite the challenges, Dr. Nayan performed the operation using a modern minimally invasive technique, avoiding major incisions. Following the surgery, the patient has gradually begun to walk again, regaining hope for a normal life.
A Model of Compassionate Care
Currently serving at Khagrachhari District Sadar Hospital, he also regularly sees patients at Parkside Hospital & Diagnostic Centre.
Patients report that he listens attentively, avoids unnecessary tests, and often provides free consultations to those who cannot afford treatment. This humane approach has earned him the reputation of a “compassionate doctor” among the local community.
Strong Response to Free Medical Camp
Continuing his humanitarian efforts, Dr. Nayan organized the “Free Orthopedic Medical Camp 2026,” which received widespread appreciation. The initiative, jointly arranged by Pediatric Orthopedic Society of Bangladesh and Khagendra Shanti Foundation, provided free treatment to more than 750 patients.
In addition, 10 successful surgeries were performed, and several patients received emergency care, including plaster treatment. The program was conducted with the participation of experienced specialists from different parts of the country.
A Dedicated Professional in the Eyes of Colleagues
According to colleagues and senior physicians, Dr. Nayan has played a significant role over the past decade in improving orthopedic care in the hill tracts. His initiatives have also expanded access to pediatric orthopedic services in the region.
A Symbol of Trust for Patients
To local patients and their families, he is more than just a doctor—he represents trust and humanity. Many believe that his empathy and kind behavior contribute significantly to their healing process.
By overcoming the limitations of a remote hill region and standing beside people in need, Dr. Nayan Moy Tripura has set a remarkable example worthy of national recognition. Through a blend of humanity, skill, and dedication, he has become another name for unwavering trust among the people of the hills.
